Klean Kanteen

Klean Kanteen bottles can be used to store just about anything. I used one to carry trail mix, protein powder, a stiff batch of margaritas and lots of good old water. And thanks to the indestructiable nature of stainless steal, a Klean Kanteen bottle will keep your cargo safe, no matter how roughly you treat it or the pack the bottle resides in. The mettle skin also means Klean Kanteens are varmint proof, great if you have to leave your goods unattended in the woods for a while.

More fine features of ultralight electro-polished #304 stainless steel is it does not affect the taste of the contents, nor does it pick up odors. And cleaning is a snap. Simply rinse out your Klean Kanteen with a diluted baking soda and warm water mixture or throw it in the dishwasher. Just be sure not to run the tops threw the machine, as they may be distorted by the supper high temperatures.

Klean Kanteens are available in four sizes (12, 18, 27, 40oz.) and can be had with three different tops, a standard flat screw top, a looped screw top and a sports nozzle type.

I found the standard and loped screw tops to be secure and easy to use, while the sports nozzle top took some getting used to. For it to work adequately, the small rubber gasket must be removed from the inside of the nozzle. This allows air to enter the bottle as you drink, thus preventing a vacuum from stopping the flow of liquid. The drawback is the nozzle leaks a bit when tipped up and when on its side.
