Owned and operated by founder/CEO Tony Ellsworth, Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles has been praised for its innovative design and immaculately detailed quality. Tony Ellsworth designed and built his first frame in 1991, when his personal passion for cycling drove him to create a better bicycle for his own enjoyment. Calling it the Sub 22, Ellsworth’s hope was to share his new frame design with only a few members of his family and circle of close friends. However, as more people got to see and ride his bike, his hobby turned into a part-time business with multiple orders coming in every week.

In 1993, Ellsworth set out to test his passion even further by designing a full-suspension frame. Having proven to stand the test of time, the Truth frame was born and is still a cross-country staple to this day. Having much iteration since its inception, the Truth paved the way for Ellsworth’s patented Instant Center Tracking (ICT) design.

What started as one man’s passion, turned into a profitable company in 1998, when Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles became an official corporation!
