Eleventh Annual Dakota Five-O Draws a Record Numbers

Phil Stake Comments | Category: News

(September 4, 2011) Spearfish, S.D. - More than 600 riders took the trail, at least 100 riders more than last year. The race begins and ends each year in the city of Spearfish, S.D. The majority of the 50-mile race comprises single track, as well as two track ATV and gravel roads. Racers navigated up and down roughly 7,000 feet of elevation change under a clear sky and with good weather. A route modification following mile 38 had riders clutching hard to the handlebars. It was regarded by many racers as the best, and most difficult, section of the 50-mile route.
